CAD conversion is the process of transferring manually drafted paper drawings into electronic vector formats, such as Autodesk’s DWG format, which can be viewed or edited on a PC. Our paper-to-CAD conversion process is far superior to fully automated solutions; our results are equivalent in accuracy to drawings created “from scratch” in CAD applications, and produce a fully detailed and dimensionally accurate CAD drawing.
Documents can be scanned into raster or vector format with the help of various interactive vectorization programs. We work with clients to determine the best utilization of scanning technology for specific projects. Raster images are usually suitable for archiving your documents as digital images. These are cost-effective methods for storing drawings with low initial capture cost. This format is however, not good if you want to edit the content. Vector formats are best suited for projects that are, or may become, live – when it is necessary to edit the images or use them in an engineering context. We utilize the latest scanning and conversion technologies, but we do not content ourselves with automation alone, since we believe that it is impossible to achieve accurate results unless trained analysts are managing the scanning process and skilled draftsmen review and polish the result. Our team is equipped to handle a wide range of scanning formats and vectorization applications.
